SchuldenStop is the Stuttgart Regional Office of the Bundesverband Schuldnerhilfe Deutschland e.V. – and we are more than just an advice centre.

Behind every file is a person. Someone who lies awake at night because the letterbox only brings bills. Someone who feels ashamed, even though there is no reason. We know this – and that is exactly why we do this work.

Debt is not failure. It's a situation – and situations can be resolved. Whether through an out-of-court settlement, a structured debt plan, or personal insolvency – we coordinate the best path for you. Legal assessment is carried out by BSD e.V. and specialist lawyers.

Your questions – our answers

Yes, absolutely – no ifs or buts. The first consultation is 100% free and completely non-binding. You have no obligations whatsoever. We listen, get an overview of your situation, and explain the possible next steps. After that, you decide at your own pace. No fine print, no catch.
No months-long waiting lists – that's what sets us apart. At Caritas, Diakonie or public advice centres, you often wait 3 to 6 months. With us, you usually get an appointment within a few days. Because when debt is pressing, every day counts.
No waiting. Personal support. Nationwide network. Non-profit organisations do good work, but their waiting lists are long and advisors often overloaded. With us, you get a dedicated contact person who knows your case from A to Z. Plus, we work closely with specialist lawyers through the BSD association. So you get advice and legal expertise from one source.
Yes – and that's actually our first approach. Personal Insolvency is always the last resort. First, BSD e.V. and specialist lawyers assess whether an out-of-court settlement with your creditors is possible – a compromise, instalment plan, or partial write-off. In many cases this works, and you avoid insolvency proceedings entirely.
3 years – then you're debt-free. Since the legal reform, debt discharge in Germany takes only 3 years (previously 6). Preparation takes about 3-6 months. This means: in less than 4 years you can start completely fresh – without a single old debt.
First consultation in German or Turkish. For other languages – English, Arabic, Ukrainian, Romanian, Russian, Bulgarian – we find a solution together (e.g. translation tools or interpreters).
